How We Approach Soccer Coverage in South Florida

South Florida is one of the most varied soccer communities in the United States. On any weekend you can find supporters of Argentine, Colombian, Brazilian, Venezuelan, Haitian, Jamaican, Cuban and Honduran clubs and national teams sharing the same bar, alongside fans of the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A and Major League Soccer. That mix shapes how we write. We try to cover the game the way people here actually follow it: across several leagues and time zones, often in more than one language, and with strong loyalties that don't always line up neatly.

What independence means for us

GFAIFA is not affiliated with any club, league, federation or broadcaster. We don't sell tickets, and we don't speak on behalf of teams or venues. That lets us say when a tactical plan didn't work, when a transfer rumor looks thin, or when a matchday spot is better suited to families than to a loud supporters' group. When we discuss transfers, we try to separate confirmed moves from speculation and to explain why a deal might or might not make sense for a squad, rather than simply repeating headlines.

How to use the site

  • Before kickoff: the Match Center collects fixtures and the context behind them, so you know what's at stake.
  • After the final whistle: our Analysis pieces look at shape, pressing, substitutions and the small decisions that swung the result.
  • On matchday: the Fan Zone offers practical advice on watching games locally, from planning around Miami traffic and summer heat to finding places that show early-morning European fixtures.

For anything involving dates, tickets or broadcast times, always confirm with the official club, league or venue, because schedules change often. Our role is to add context and help you enjoy the game more, not to replace official sources.

We also welcome input from readers. If your supporters' group meets somewhere we haven't covered, or you think we've misread a match, let us know. Good fan media gets better when the community helps shape it.
