How to use these places on a South Florida matchday
The spots on this list fall into three rough groups, and knowing which is which makes planning a soccer day in South Florida much easier. First come the places where the game itself happens. DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale is the home ground of Inter Miami CF, and Tropical Park Stadium in southwest Miami-Dade is a long-standing venue for track, school and community sport. The Miami Beach Soccer Park is more grassroots, a place where local players and pickup groups get on the ball.
The second group is the waterfront and downtown parks. Maurice A. Ferré Park, the area around Miamarina at Bayside, the Miami Riverwalk and Regatta Park are where people gather before or after a match. When big tournaments come to town, open public spaces like these are often chosen for fan events or watch parties. Plans change from event to event, so check the organisers' announcements rather than assuming a screen will be set up.
The third group is for slower days. South Pointe Park at the southern tip of Miami Beach is a good place to walk off a late kickoff or kick a ball around on the grass with friends.
Practical tips
- Allow for distance. Fort Lauderdale is a real drive from downtown Miami or the Beach, and I-95 traffic at rush hour can be heavy. Leave early for evening kickoffs.
- Check official sources. Tickets, bag policies, parking and gate times are set by each venue or club. Confirm them on official channels before you travel.
- Respect the heat. Bring water, sunscreen and a hat, even for an outdoor watch party after dark. Summer storms also arrive fast, so have a covered fallback nearby.
- Public parks have rules. City parks may limit amplified sound, alcohol and organised games. A quick look at the parks department's guidance saves trouble.
